Mission Statement:

The "Quad City Amateur Tour" is a non-profit, 501c(3), organization created to provide golfers in the region a chance to compete in an organized and competitive environment. Sponsorship funds from area businesses and membership fees paid by player members allow the Tour to make donations that directly benefit the youth of the Quad City area.

Overview:

The Tour features six (6) regular points tournaments on both the Iowa and Illinois sides of the Mississippi River. In addition, the Tour has two (2) major points events, the "Quad City Amateur" at Emeis Golf Course and the "Tour Championship", where points earned are increased. A season ending event, The Hasley Cup, pits the top players in both states against each other using a Ryder Cup style format. The fantastic schedule makes the "Quad City Amateur Tour" one of the strongest amateur golf tours in the Midwest.

Tour Structure:

All Tour members are awarded points and positioning is based upon a maximum of five (5) tour finishes of the eight (8) events on the Tour schedule. The players' overall Tour finish is based upon their best five (5) finishes. "Player of the Year" awards are presented to the top finishers in the Open and Senior Divisions.

All events are "flighted" based upon the size of the field. For events where there are 64 or more players in the Open division there will be three (3) flights (Championship, "A" and "B"). With between 33 and 63 players, there will be two (2) flights (Championship and "A"). For an event where there are 32 or less players, Championship will be the only flight.

Statistically, after the first seven (7) tournaments, the top 32 players & ties in the Open and the top 16 & ties in the Senior Division earn a chance to play in the Tour Championship. Additionally, after the Tour Championship, the top ten (10) Open Division finishers and the top three (3) Senior finishers in Illinois and Iowa are awarded spots on the season-ending Hasley Cup teams. The Open Division captains from each state have 2 additional picks and the Senior captains will have one (1) additional pick to complete the total of 12 Open and 4 Senior players from each state. A Ryder Cup style of play is used and this event is the premier event that caps off the season.
