Local Quad City Amateur Golf Tour Helps Aid Flood Victims

Davenport, IA---June 26, 2008---The Quad City Amateur Tour (QC Am Tour), presented by Wells Fargo, a non-profit golf tour created to provide regional golfers a chance to compete in an organized and professional environment, is raising money for flood victim relief for the American Red Cross’ National Disaster Relief Fund. One hundred percent of all proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Fund, along with a $1,500 cash contribution from the QC Am Tour.

“Helping local residents is a part of our mission,” said Dave Holmes, Chairman of the Board for the Quad City Am Tour. “In times of crisis like this, we all want to try to figure out a way to help. We have an opportunity with our members and the citizens of the Quad City area to make a difference. The American Red Cross is a wonderful organization that assures our contributions will help provide the necessary relief to flood victims.”

Participate by purchasing Quad City Amateur Tour Logo hats which are on sale for $10, or by making a cash contribution at the following local Quad City golf courses: Crow Valley Golf Club, Davenport Country Club, Emeis Golf Course, Glynn’s Creek Golf Course, Oakwood Country Club, Palmer Hills Golf Course and Short Hills Country Club.

Hat sales and donations will also be taken at this weekend’s upcoming Short Hills Amateur golf tournament at Short Hills Country Club in East Moline, IL.
